Fix Favicon error not displaying on Bing Search

There are several potential reasons why your Favicon is not showing up on Bing Search. Below are some steps you can take to fix the problem.

If you have done everything correctly. In Google or Yandex, Favicon is displayed. Only Bing does not display it, so you should contact Bing support. This method 100% can fix the problem within 24 hours.

Check Favicon format

I don't know if this is correct, but excess is better than deficiency. Bing only supports formats ICO for Favicon size from 16x16 pixels above. You can use an online image converter to convert images to ICO format if necessary.

As for me, I use plugins Favicon by RealFaviconGenerator to create standard Favicon for all devices.

Your favicon must be located at the root of your website. You can check your Favicon location by visiting https://your-domain.com/favicon.ico on the browser.

Card <link> HTML must be added to the section <head> of your website to point to the Favicon file.

Contact Bing support

If you've tried all of the steps above and your Favicon is still not showing, you can contact Bing support for further assistance. Contact Bing support at https://www.bing.com/webmasters/help/webmasters-support-24ab5ebf.

  • Scroll down and click the button Raise support request to create a support ticket.
  • Select the domain you need to update the Favicon on Bing.
  • Item What type of problem do you have? select Crawling issue.
  • Item What do you need help with? select Other.
  • To describe the problem, you can use a sample text like mine:

- Many months have passed, but my website's favicon is still not showing up on the Bing search engine.
- I don't have this problem on Google or Yandex.
- It looks like Bing is having problems collecting favicons.
- Please help me update my favicon.
- Thank you very much.
